Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible: Hubbie’s Cameo!

My husband is a morning radio host and he gets to do A LOT of cool things.  This week he was featured on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible.  The show was in town to help renovate a local restaurant and they all stopped by my hubbie’s radio studio to talk about the experience.

He’s the cute one behind the microphone.

First Idol Mistake: Chris Medina is Out

Argh.  I hate when American Idol builds up a contestant for us only to cut them before WE, the audience, get a chance to vote.

Last night was the end of the road for AI favorite, Chris Medina.  His story touched my heart from day one.

I’m sad to see him go.  So was Jennifer Lopez.  She had a serious breakdown.  I just wish they gave him one more chance.  Chris is a class act.  I hope he continues his music journey with Juliana by his side.

Jennifer Aniston: Brand New Bob

And since it’s all about celebrity HAIR lately, here’s a pic of Jennifer Aniston’s brand new bob haircut.  It looks light she lightened the color too.  I really like it.   I might talk to my stylist about trying this look too.  Well, once my hair grows a bit longer.

Let’s see if it becomes as popular as the “Rachel.”

Justin Bieber: Breaking News!

PLEASE tell me it’s just a super slow news day when every entertainment website had THIS as the lead story when I woke up this morning:

“JUSTIN BIEBER GETS A HAIRCUT.”

Wow.  This kid has some serious impact.  (Taylor Swift better hurry up and straighten her hair again.)

Three

My baby turned THREE on February 15th.  I think it’s the hardest transition for me because “2” still feels like a baby, but “3” means I have a little girl now.

And my little girl is already in her new “big girl” bed.  Annabel wanted a princess bed so I had a blast picking out the shabby chic comforter and a flower canopy, a special splurge from PBKids.

Nothing is too good for my princess.

Annabel is the definition of a princess and that pretty much defines the year for me.  She knows what she loves and she loves everything girly: Ponies, princesses, Hello Kitty (still), dolls, and lots of pink.  We call her our little “princess diva” because along with the sweet demeanor and smile comes her stubbornness and drama.  She will hide her face when someone wants to say hello but five minutes later she will offer a hug.  She will push her brother away when he wants to join in the fun but then they will sit side by side and color a picture together. She knows her letters and she loves to say her ABCs.  She also loves to sing along with songs on the radio and she has developed her Mama’s love for 80s music.  (Thanks Kidz Bop!)  She loves to dance and will spin around in circles until she is dizzy.  She will also grab my hands unexpectedly so we can dance together in the kitchen after breakfast or lunch.

She is growing like a weed and I finally found a gym program that she likes. We get to have our “Mommy and Me” time once a week so she can work on her strength and flexibility.  She still loves to be lazy and she asks to be carried up the stairs or into bed. But she can cuddle, hug, and kiss with the best of them.  She loves to be loved.

Her head of curls will now reach to her bottom when wet, but I don’t want to dare cut an inch.  I fear the curls may disappear and they are such a part of her personality.

She is a little social butterfly now although she still loves to play alone like her big brother.  She is working on sharing with others and I am so proud of her independence.  She is my neighborhood Mommy Playgroup buddy and I am still surprised when I don’t have to worry about her for an entire hour with the other little girls. She also is the only girl when she plays with her big brother’s friends but she will hold her own.  She is a princess but she will not let the boys push her around.

She had two amazing birthday celebrations this year.  On her actual birthday, Grandma and Grandpa drove down from Maryland to spend the special day with their granddaughter.  Annabel was thrilled.  She loved the special attention and all the extra reading and playtime.  Grandma and Grandpa also took Annabel to the mall for a special Hello Kitty surprise and a train ride.

Daddy made a special birthday dinner and I made Annabel a pink heart cake because that is the cake my Mom made me for my February birthday every year.  I’ve decided this is our new birthday tradition.  She had a wonderful day with her Grandparents, her GG, her brother and her Mama and Daddy.

Then Annabel had another birthday celebration on Saturday with 12 friends at the My Gym.  The princess diva theme continued and she left her tiara on the entire time.  There were pink balloons, lots of bubbles, zip line rides, swings, puppets, a ball pit and I’m exhausted just thinking about it all.  It really was such a blast.

Happy Birthday, my sweet baby girl.  Now stop growing up so fast, okay?

Don’t You Want Me, Topher Grace?

OMG. OMG. OMG. I heart Topher Grace!

His brand new movie about the 80s called Take Me Home Tonight opens in theatres March 4th.  He created this super fun viral video with Atomic Tom to get us all excited for the film.  It’s a cover of the popular Human League hit, “Don’t You Want Me.”  See if you can count all the 80s movie references in the music video. (That’s if you are not too distracted by Topher Grace’s HOTNESS.)  Hee.

American Idol: Robbie Rosen

After watching American Idol “Hollywood Week,” my new favorite contestant has emerged: Robbie Rosen from Merrick, NY.

Robbie is only 16 years old and he can sing and play piano.  I love his voice.  And he sure is a cutie.  I can’t find his Hollywood Week video clip, but here is his very first audition and also his back story.

Sneak Peek: Bethenny Ever After

Here is a preview of the new season of Bravo TV’s Bethenny Ever After.  Yahoo!  I love me some Bethenny!

The show premieres February 28th.  I can’t wait!

Happy Valentine’s Day ’11

Valentine’s Day comes and goes in such a rush every year because it is now defined as the day before Annabel’s birthday.  I really love the holiday so I have to remember to make it special.  I decorate the house with pink and red and hearts and “love” signs. (It’s awesome because it gives me another great excuse to buy cute decorations at Homegoods or Hobby Lobby.)

We give the kiddies a special Valentine’s bag of treats in the morning.  The “treats” are always something other than candy because they will get so much of that from friends and teachers and grandparents.

This year we gave Daniel and Annabel some new coloring books and stickers so they spent the morning doing art projects before Daniel had to leave for school.  Annabel was super excited because we went back to Daniel’s class for a Valentine’s party at lunch time. She can not wait to start school in the fall.  At this rate, she thinks school is all about playing with friends and eating sugary things.

Yep, that’s about right.

Then, we had Grandma and Grandma over for a special Valentine’s family dinner .  They drove down from Maryland to spend three days with us.  We ate pasta cake (lasagna), broccoli, salad, and brownie sundaes.  We are all stuffed and full of love and ready for round two tomorrow.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Grammy Love

Happy Valentine’s Day!  This is one of my favorite holidays because I love hearts.  I love candy and flowers.  And I will always remember Valentine’s Day as being the day I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my baby girl, Annabel.

So in honor of LOVE, here are the top five things I LOVED about the 2011 Grammy Awards. (Photos courtesy of AP.)

1. Katy Perry bringing her Grandma as her date on the red carpet.  How cute is this photo?  And I love Grandma’s bedazzled cane.

2.  Rihanna’s dress on the red carpet.  It was VERY daring but she can rock it.

3.  Cee Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow’s performance of “Forget You”..with Muppets!

4. Miranda Lambert’s performance of “The House that Built Me.”  I’ve loved this song ever since I heard it on country radio.  It was Miranda’s very first Grammy performance ever.  She also had her first Grammy win for the song.

5. John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban performing “Jolene.”  It reminded me again that Dolly Parton is an amazing songwriter.  Plus, you know I love me some John Mayer even if he looks a bit, um, unkempt.
