I’m really loving Madonna’s brand new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin.” It’s so fun! (And my son gives it two thumbs up.) Madonna will perform “Give Me All Your Luvin” (and hopefully some of her mega hits) at this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

“Give Me All Your Luvin” is available now on iTunes and you can check out the music video below. I love the look. It has some vintage 80s pop fun to it, but she keeps it current with rappers M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj as her loyal cheerleaders. It’s the perfect football theme for Sunday’s game. And Madonna looks amazing. I love the hot hairdos and the outfits. Is she really 53 years old?

Well, hello there Ryan Gosling! Ryan is AMAZING in this movie. He deserves a best supporting actor nomination and I’m not just saying that because he can wear a suit (or not wear a suit) very well. His character Jacob is a charming ladies man and Ryan is just terrific in the role. One of my favorite movies of all time is The Notebook because it’s the perfect combination of romance, sap, and really great acting. Ryan was awesome as the lead in The Notebook because he is skilled at the heartfelt drama, but who knew he was also so hysterically funny? This is a breakout comedic role for him and, WOW, he is so yummy to look at too.

Buy your tickets now, Ladies.

What? I don’t know why actors constantly fight to do something “out of their comfort zone” when the opportunities IN their comfort zone would make them very popular and rich. I personally think that Zac Efron would have been catapulted into super-stardom by playing this role, just like John Travolta was in Grease. Oh, well. (And I saw Charlie St. Cloud and I just didn’t like it. Sorry, Zac.)

Next, Gossip Girl‘s super cute leading man Chase Crawford came on board. Okay, I could see that. He has the looks and, apparently, he can sing and dance too. But, NO. He was out as well. I didn’t hear much about the film for awhile, but now it’s getting ready for a theatrical release on October 14th. They cast newbie Kenny Wormald as Ren and Dancing with the Stars hottie (and Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend) Julianne Hough as Ariel. Kenny was last seen on the MTV series Dancelife and in the feature films You Got Served and Center Stage: Turn It Up. The kid can definitely dance.

I saw the Footloose movie trailer in the theatre last week and I was surprised how spot on it is to the original. This is a complete remake, not a redo. It takes place in modern day, but all the rest is the same. It has the same “no dancing in our small town” plot. The same cast of characters. The same teenage angst. The same dance numbers.

You can watch the just released SECOND Footloose movie trailer below. Then, watch it again while you picture Zac Efron in the lead role. See what I mean?

It was a cool gig. I had to show the films to press so they could do their reviews. The studios would send their stars and directors into town to participate in press tours and special events. We even hosted the US premieres for some of the films. I handled a bunch of A-listers including Nic Cage, John Travolta, Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, Mark Ruffalo, and Angelina Jolie. I was their local publicist so I don’t have autographs or photos, but I have the memories.

My first memory is of my first week on the job. I went to a screening and I was starting to meet all the press. It was important to know their names and their press outlets as soon as possible. I was new and I wanted to have a relationship with these people. It would be crucial that they screened and reviewed my films and participated in any of my local press events. Plus, the press people get around. They know the city. They know everyone. They were well connected and they needed to by my allies.

My main account was Sony Pictures and the press knew that the “new girl” had inherited that account. How did I know? Because almost every single one of them asked me about Spider-Man. ”Hi! You’re Pam, the new publicist? Spider-Man, right?” I was blessed with an awesome account with great films and EVERYONE was excited about the upcoming summer release of Spider-Man. I was excited too. I grew up knowing about all the super heroes, but Spider-Man was the coolest. It was a story I could understand. It was about an ordinary boy who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes Spider-Man. (Well, that’s the simplest version.)

It was a JOY to work on the film. It was exciting to put together fun promotions and special events to distribute hard-to-get tickets to the local premiere of the movie. Everyone wanted to see it. And it did not disappoint. It was an awesome film and it broke box office records. It defined my career at the agency because it gave me an exciting jumping off point. I was energized.

I also worked on Spider-Man 2. I left the agency before Spider-Man 3 came out. Then, everything turned around. Tobey Maguire and the director Sam Raimi were out. So was Kirsten Dunst. Spider-Man was done.

But not so fast! Sony Pictures is back with The Amazing Spider-Man. They hired Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker and Emma Stone (Easy A) as Gwen Stacy. It won’t be the same, but it still looks exciting. You gotta love Spider-man.

(Oh, another memory was that Spider-Man had that dash between “Spider” and “Man.” It would drive me nuts. I had to correct it all the time on my press releases and correspondence. To this day I will point out to Hubbie if I see it spelled incorrectly. Some things never leave you.)

It really makes you think about that old adage that all the popular football jocks in your high school will be working as used car salesmen while all the nerdy geeks will rule the world. This movie will make you want to be a nerdy geek.

And if you happen to be a nerdy geek who knows how to program a computer? Well, then you can be a billionaire.

The young actors in the film (Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew “the next Spider-Man” Garfield, and hottie Justin Timberlake in a surprisingly large role) are awesome. Jesse Eisenberg stars (and this is truly a STAR performance) as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Jesse really made me feel for and understand Mark Zuckerberg. On the surface, Mark is painted as an unfeeling jerk. He gets dumped by a girlfriend and SLAMS her on his blog. (A mesmerizing opening scene, BTW.) He gets sued by his best friend and seems to not care. But this guy is all about how he can create the biggest social network on the planet. It’s truly ironic because he is completely antisocial and sarcastic. But he wants to create a world where he becomes the king, or rather, that popular high school quarterback.

What is really cool about the movie is that it moves so quickly. The dialogue is fast and smart. You never get bored. You can tell that Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) is holding the reigns here. Nothing seems forced. Everything sounds authentic. There are some amazing conversations between Jesse as Mark and Justin as Napster founder Sean Parker that made me feel both uncomfortable and excited at the same time. (It was really neat to learn more about Sean Parker and his role in Facebook as well. And, HELLO, Justin Timberlake is a GREAT actor.)

The Social Network is a must-see for our generation. It will make you realize the power of one idea. The entire time I was thinking about where I was in 2003 when all of this was going down in a small Harvard dorm room. And it makes me wonder what is going on RIGHT NOW in some college dorm room that might change the world again.

And it inspired me to keep dreaming big.

Run and go see this movie. It’s awesome.

(Early predictions: Oscar nomination for Best Picture, for Best Lead Actor: Jesse Eisenberg and for Best Writing: Aaron Sorkin. I would say JT for Best Supporting Actor, but I just don’t know if “The Academy” is ready for him yet. Hopefully, I’m wrong.)
