“American Idol”: Boy Crazy

Last night was 80s night on American Idol!  My two favorite Idol contestants, Phillip Phillips and Colton Dixon, did not disappoint.  The boys are on fire this season!

Here’s Colton’s version of Cindy Lauper’s “Time After Time,” one of my favorite 80s songs. He made it so current and cool.

Phillip sang “That’s All” by Genesis and he did a great job.  But I really loved his duet with Elise Testone on “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty.  I felt like I was watching a concert.  Check it out below.

Phillip Phillips: Movin’ Out on “American Idol”

I just got back from an AMAZING Walt Disney World vacation! (That LONG recap to come very soon. Princesses!  Dole Whips!  Animal Kingdom Safari!)  I had some serious TV catch up to do over the past 24 hours.  My DVR was on overload.  I finally had the chance to check out this week’s American Idol.  My favorite contestant, Phillip Phillips, did it again.

Here’s his awesome interpretation of Billy Joel’s classic, “Movin’ Out.”  I love the song.  I love this kid.  (This post is also for the hubbie who is traveling and missed the show too.  He rocks, no?)

Oh, and one of my favorite moments was when fashion mentor Tommy Hilfiger told Phillip that he should get rid of all his gray shirts.  That they are too boring on stage.  So what did Phillip do?  He came out wearing TWO gray shirts.  Ha.

American Idol is back in action and my first favorite of the season is Phillip Phillips.

You can’t forget the name, right?  Well, take a listen to his audition below.  I love his voice and I love that he rocks out to a little MJ too.

I love, love, love Bethenny Frankel!  And her Bravo TV show, Bethenny Ever After, returns for its third (and final) season on Monday, February 20th.  I can’t wait!

Here’s a sneak peek of Season 3.  It’s filled with Bethenny’s famous sarcasm, a little marriage drama, that crazy “lost at sea” adventure, and one very adorable baby Bryn.

The Real Housewives of NJ: Reunion Special Sneak Peek

I love my Real Housewives on Bravo TV. My favorite season used to be Orange County, but I gotta hand it to the ladies of New Jersey.  They have locked me in.  Each week they warm my heart and stress me out.  I’m most fascinated by Teresa Giudice and her princess castle home, four beautiful daughters, meatball husband, and leopard print EVERYTHING.

But now she’s becoming MEAN.  It might be the bankruptcy, her husband’s court battles, or maybe all that Italian cooking. (That would stress ME out.) Teresa has turned on everyone, including her sister-in-law and her one time confidant, Caroline Manzo.  And I’m definitely team Manzo.  She’s the Mama of the group and I love how she’s raised her kids to be “besties.”

Here’s a special sneak peek of part ONE of The Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion special which airs this Sunday 10 PM EST on Bravo.  It looks like lots of new gossip, screams, and tears are in store.

The Glee Project: Winner

Oxygen’s The Glee Project concluded last night with the announcement of the winner.  After 10 weeks of tryouts (I watched every episode) and lots of  singing, dancing, and cool music video performances, the winner is…

BOTH Damian and Samuel!  Damian McGinty (18) and Samuel Larsen (19) will be joining season 3 of Glee as two new high school students.

They will BOTH be featured in a seven episode arc this Fall which we already know will involve some type of rivalry with Jane Lynch’s Sue Sylvester.  I was a fan of Damian’s because he has the cutest Irish accent and he was always down-to-earth and honest. He even dedicated his final performance to his two besties he met on The Glee Project, Hannah and Cameron.  (I’m still mad at you for quitting, Cameron!)

But the winner reveal didn’t stop at Damian and Samuel.  Runners up Alex Newell (18) and Lindsay Pearce (20) will also be featured in two episodes of Glee this Fall. So everyone wins!

I thought Glee executive producer Ryan Murphy was a little tough on some of the kids on The Glee Project, but he definitely made up for it by being a bit of a softy last night and giving them all a shot at their dream. That is just so very Glee, isn’t it?  You just Don’t Stop Believin’.

Bachelor Pad: Vienna and Kasey

How crazy was that THREE HOUR premiere of Bachelor Pad? I’m so drained from all the failed Bachelor and Bachelorette romances that it’s fun to see the franchise create a show that just revels in the ridiculousness of it all.  And the most ridiculous Bachelor Pad couple has to be Vienna Girardi and  her new boyfriend Kasey Kahl.  Vienna is Bachelor Jake Pavelka’s ex and Kasey was the one Bachelorette Ali left on a glacier after he got that wacky “guard and protect your heart” tattoo.

Vienna and Kasey are now inseparable and the two lovebirds were snapped taking a stroll on the beach yesterday.  Is it just me or are they starting to remind you a little of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag?  (Check out that kiss and dip for the camera.)  And being the next “Speidi” is definitely NOT a good thing considering Spencer was just named one of the most hated people in America.  Yikes.

Scotty McCreery: I Love You This Big

Here’s the official music video for “I Love You This Big” by Scotty McCreery. It’s the American Idol Season 10 winner’s debut single. My favorite line is “I love you to the moon and back.”  He’s just so darn cute.

I was a fan of Scotty’s from the very beginning and I’m so happy he won.  I’ve always loved country music.  And I think the video is perfect for him.  It’s simple.  It’s down to earth.  It’s true country.  The fun thing is he’s from Garner, North Carolina, a small town near Raleigh where I lived for five years.  It’s a wonderful place to live and I’m sure everyone there is just thrilled for their hometown boy.

Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Sangria

My favorite reality show housewife, Bethenny Frankel, has just launched her new cocktail sensation, the Skinnygirl Sangria.  I am SO excited because I don’t like tequila so I couldn’t enjoy the super popular Skinnygirl Margarita (The drink that made her a multi-millionaire.) But I definitely plan to taste test the Skinnygirl Sangria.  And speaking of skinny girls, how thin and fit is Bethenny? She looks amazing in this hot pink dress with shocking orange Brian Atwood pumps.  All the celebrities go crazy for Mr. Atwood’s heels.  I wish I had the nerve, or the place, to wear them.  But I’ll be happy to sit in my comfy PJs and watch Bethenny Ever After when it returns to Bravo TV for a confirmed third season later this year.
