Summer Camp

I just dropped off both my kiddies at their very first summer day camp.  It’s every day from 9 AM to 3 PM and I don’t know how I’m going to make it.  I keep looking at the clock.  Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.  Daniel was a little nervous.  He takes longer to warm up to new experiences.  Annabel was fine once she found a little friend. They held hands and went off to put together a puzzle.  So I snuck away.  They both have to eat lunch there and today is “sloppy joes.”  They’ve never had a sloppy joe.  There’s also lots of swimming (which Daniel loves) and crafts (which Annabel loves.)  Once I get through this first day, I’ll be FINE.  But this is HARD.  I feel empty.  I miss them so much.  I even miss them running around here and driving me bonkers.  (Come on, 3 PM!)

In the meantime, here are some photos of Daniel from his first Tennis Camp last week.  That was easier for me to handle.  It was every day from Noon to 3 PM and I technically could stay and watch.  I only stayed a few minutes at the beginning and that was because I love to watch him play.  He LOVES tennis. And he’s getting so good!  It rained every day last week but the sun came out just for the three hours he had his lessons.  He was so happy.  Annabel was there in full support and the coach even let her help pick up the balls at the end. She wants to play now too.

*Update:  They both had a blast at summer day camp.  Of course they did.  It’s camp!  I always worry for nothing.

**Update: Part Two:  They also went on their very first camp field trip.  It was also their first time on a SCHOOL BUS.  I didn’t tell them that I drove to Chuck E. Cheese’s to spy on them as they walked off the bus.  I couldn’t help it.  They both had a great time.
