NKOTBSB

It’s cutie boy band overload!  The New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys have just announced that they plan to tour together in Summer 2011!  ( I am really excited.  I’ve been an NKOTB fan since high school and the Backstreet Boys have one of the Best Pop Songs EVER.)

Here’s the very first official photo of the guys: Joey McIntyre, AJ McLean, Jordan Knight, Howie Dorough, Jonathan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Littrell, Danny Wood, and Nick Carter.  Unfortunately no Kevin Richardson.  He is no longer a member of BSB generic levitra.

Their very first performance together will be at this year’s American Music Awards on November 21st.  (Although they did give us a tease at a New Kids concert back in June.)  And here’s the brand new NKOTBSB website and twitter account so I, er you, can follow their every move.

5 Questions: Casey from TLC’s “Quints by Surprise”

I’m excited to introduce my brand new PopMommy feature, “5 Questions.”  Special thanks to super mom Casey Jones from the TLC show Quints by Surprise for being my very first guest.

Ethan and Casey Jones were grade school sweethearts who married after college and had their first daughter, Eliot.  When they were ready to give Eliot a baby brother or sister, they were surprised to find out they were having quints!  They soon welcomed girls Brooklyn, Ryan, Britton, Lila and their first son, Jack.  They currently live in Austin, TX and the show is all about the challenges and joys of raising five new babies, especially in this challenging economy.

5 Questions: Casey Jones from TLC’s “Quints by Surprise

1. Hi Casey. Your show is called “Quints by Surprise.” What has been the biggest surprise since you’ve had the new babies?

CJ: I would have to say that the biggest surprise is how much you can handle when you have no other choice! I never would have guessed that I could handle having so many kids and I never knew it would be so much fun…in spite of the craziness!

2. What is the best thing about doing the reality show “Quints by Surprise?”

CJ: We have a great time with the show! It’s a lot of fun working with the crews and getting to know them all and we have great videos of all of our family’s adventures!

3. What is your best advice for new moms of multiples?

CJ: Have fun!! Don’t let the stress and the worry and the work of it all win! If you do, you’ll miss out on some amazing times with your babies!

4. Besides your own show, what is some “must watch” television (or children’s DVDS) in the Jones’ house?

CJ: We don’t really get to watch much TV anymore, but we used to love Lost, 24, and DWTS (Dancing with the Stars.) For the kids, Baby Einstein is a must! Though now they are really into Blue’s Clues, Sesame Street, and Barney.

5. Finally, we all know the success of the pop group the Jonas Brothers.  Well, how about the Jones Sisters and a Brother? Are the kids musical?

CJ: The kids do love to dance…especially Jack and Brooklyn!! Who knows??? 😉

Casey and family have just wrapped up their very first season of Quints by Surprise and I’m crossing my fingers for season 2.   If you love the show, like I do, help bring it back to TLC by clicking here.   Also leave a comment for me below.

Happy Halloween ’10

Now that the kiddies are 4 and 2, the Halloween celebrations have kicked up a notch.  We basically celebrate Halloween the entire month of October.

This year it started when I hung the “Countdown to Halloween” Witch sign on the wall and it finally ended last night when I wrestled the plastic pumpkins filled with candy from their hands. Daniel has school parties now and Annabel was invited to a Mommy & Me costume party for the first time.  I’m a little jealous of their social network, I’ll be honest.  But I get to live vicariously through them, so that’s fine.

Daniel’s Halloween celebration started at his preschool and since they are not allowed to wear costumes, everyone rocked a team jersey.  Here he is doing some pumpkin rolling and candy hunting:

His most favorite part was the eating and there was plenty of sweet stuff to go around including pumpkin donuts from Krispy Kreme.  It took every cell in my body to not eat one.  They looked so yummy.

Annabel is still going through her princess diva phase so she spent the first half of her costume party observing from a distance:

But then she decided to have fun and dove right in making crafts, playing with the sand table and eating lots of junk food.  She had a blast.

Then it was finally Halloween night and my Tinkerbell and Cowboy were ready to go:

They trick or treated for an HOUR.  That was a new record.   The weather was perfect.   We shared some candy before bedtime and now I’m in the process of packing up all the decorations and moving on to the next holiday. (But I did get some AMAZING deals this morning when Annabel and I went Halloween clearance shopping! Woo Hoo!)

Hope your Halloween was awesome too.
