Six

Daniel,

You are such a big boy now that I don’t want to write on and on about what I THINK I know about you.  You have your own thoughts and opinions.  I’m sure there are things that you don’t share with me anymore (which breaks my heart) and then there are the things that you do share with me that I no longer want to share with anyone else.  Because I respect you.  Even though you are only six years old, you are a wise soul. It’s been that way from the beginning.   You constantly amaze me and Daddy with your questions about life and your concerns for the world.

You’re also so very smart. You do math problems in your head. You get the joke.  You draw pages and pages of city landscapes because (today) you want to be an architect.  That could change.  What won’t change is my passion to help you follow your dreams.  Things that I HOPE won’t change?  Your silly strut.  Your amazing hugs.  The sweet ways you help your sister.  Your love of reading and great music.  Your love of vegetables. Your love of the ocean.  Our special moments together, just me and you.  Happy Birthday, Daniel.  I will always love you.

Love,

Mama
